LEARNING

We think folk music is amazing and part of our mission is to engage more people to fall in love with it too!

EFEx is delighted to put on concerts, festivals and events throughout the year, but we can't do it on our own. We also run regular programmes to train and teach folk fans how to participate and host their own folk events, supporting artists and growing audiences.

In this section is some information about our own industry training programmes, and also some information about some other organisations who specialise in education in the folk, roots and acoustic music sector.

MUSIC INDUSTRY TRAINING PROGRAMMES

Have you ever wanted to put on your own gigs?
Are you interested in how the music industry works?

At English Folk Expo, we believe the best way to grow the folk, roots and acoustic music sector is get involved!
We run training programmes and activities to support the next wave of music 'fans' to become music 'industry'!

The English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) is the national folk arts development organisation for England.

They champion the English traditional arts – music, song, dance, storytelling, customs and traditions – as part of the rich and diverse cultural landscape of the UK.

EFDSS deliver programmes of learning and participation and artists development through their arts venue, Cecil Sharp House, through alibrary and archive, the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, and at a range of venues across England, and sometimes beyond.
